One of my favorite French holidays is today and there is lots going on around KC to help celebrate Bastille Day! Here is a quick look at a few local favorites!
Le Fou Frog
This year’s theme to Le Fou Frog’s annual Bastille Day celebration- Au Homage to Fromage!! The party will start on Thursday and end Sunday and it promises to be a weekend of fun, song, dance, and delicious French food (and cheese!) in the crazy cabaret style that only Le Fou Frog can pull off.
Westport Cafe & Bar
Westport Café and Bar is, again, honoring its French influence by celebrating Bastille Day on Thursday, July 14. There will be an extended happy hour starting at 4pm until close at 1am. Music will be by Dj Sheppa, spinning french infused dance/lounge music from 8PM – 12am and a Special Bastille Day Punch w/ strawberries, peaches, lavender & vodka will be on the menu. Speaking of the menu, the Special Bastille Day prix fixe menu will be offered from 4pm to close for $40 or $55 with wine pairings, available Thursday July 14, through Saturday, July 16!
Aixois
Aixois is a classic French bistro in Kansas City’s Brookside neighborhood, that will be offering dinner, dessert and drink specials Thursday through Sunday in honor of Bastille Day! Chef Emmanuel Langalde, a native of Aix-en-Provence offers a very French menu focused on fresh, organic, seasonal ingredients. He often works with local farmers, butchers, and bakers to bring KC flavor to his classic French cuisine.
Charisse
Looking for a nice traditional French meal to celebrate Bastille? Charisse offers every night a Four Course Prix-Fixe Menu option where you can choose French classic dishes from their elegant menu. Or, simply raise a glass of Rosé at their happy hour from 4-6!
