Family-Friendly Doughnut Shop in Westport
A new doughnut shop will open Wednesday in Westport and it is definitely a local place we want to visit! With the new trend of “adult doughnut bars” in full swing, it is nice to see an old-fashioned family oriented doughnut spot open. White cake “mini doughnuts” will be served fresh daily and customers will have a chance to “make-their-own” from a variety of icings. Hungry clients will then have the opportunity to choose their own toppings- choices ranging from traditional rainbow sprinkles to toasted marshmallow. Drizzles- delicious choices like Bavarian cream and caramel- are also available.
The owner, Andrew Cameron is no stranger to doughnuts- he opened his first doughnut shop Daylight Donuts in Leavenworth in 2011 and added locations in Lansing, Gardner, Olathe, and Overland Park. In addition to the “build your own” doughnut choice, Donutology will also serve the Daylight doughnuts- cake and raised doughnuts as well as twists, bear claws, cinnamon rolls and sausage rolls.
Donutology will support many other local businesses as well. Shatto Milk and The Roasterie coffee will be served and even the flour to make the doughnuts will be from local Arkansas City, KS flour mills.
