A Place You Never Have to Say Sorry

20160924_105532As a mom of two children with Autism, this post is both business and personal. Business: highlighting this wonderful new gym that opened it’s doors this year; personal: giving my children a safe haven to go, be themselves, and not have to worry about behaviors or onlookers. In a sense, complete freedom!

Kansas City owner, Cassidi Jobe, who also has two children on the autism spectrum, searched high and low for a place for her two boys to play- after creating their own sensory space for their son in their home, they decided to take a leap. They found the We Rock the Spectrum concept and knew it had to be in our city.

20160728_154817We Rock the Spectrum now is open in the Northland area, close to Zona Rosa. The gym is inclusive. It is not just for kids on the autism spectrum- it celebrates what kids can do rather than isolating them by what they can’t do. A trampoline, zipline, swings galore, art area, “pretend play area” and rock climbing wall will entertain for hours- $12 for three hours to be exact! The gym offers a lot more than just open-play though. Respite care, classes, birthday parties and events are also offered. This December, We Rock the Spectrum will go mobile with the We Rock on Wheels Bus. We Rock on Wheels is an on-the-go kid’s gym that provides children of ALL abilities a place to play and grow together. Each bus features specially-designed, sensory-safe equipment that is fun to use while also helping to improve areas of strength, movement, sensory processing, communication and more. There are a variety of services that the bus will provide to allow your child a fantastic sensory experience!

We give thanks to We Rock the Spectrum Kansas City for giving us such a wonderful resource and safe place that all kids can be themselves in. Beat the winter boredom and visit We Rock the Spectrum this December! #Supportlocal #PlayLocal #GiveThanks #PromoteKC
