Beautiful skin and body care made safely

Stephanie Simkins, chemist and formulator behind the local product line SKIN was born and raised in KC and started SKIN in 2008 after working as an holistic nutrition consultant. Because she saw so many of her clients using toxic products on their bodies, she used her background in holistic health, herbalism and catering to make safe products for skin. In 2012, she opened her first retail store in San Francisco, where she had a large following and the skinline began to build. Stephanie brought her retail back to Kansas City, with a store on the Country Club Plaza and the community embraced the new local skin line for three years until unfortunately, the Plaza sold to new owners and the store front was given away to a different company.

Losing her store did not sway Stephanie. With the local trend rising, Stephanie put the product in many local stores, like Made in KC and other natural grocers and spas. She sells her products on-line nationally and now spends her time teaching the local scene about her products and clean effective skin care. She loves giving back, donating to local charities and this year, her products will be featured in SWAG bags for Kansas City Fashion Week!

What is SKIN

SKIN™ is a line of natural skin care and body products made with organic ingredients and oils each with a specific healing component in mind. Stephanie chose citrus fruits and healing oils because she liked how they work together to refresh, calm, and revive. Made by hand, SKIN delivers the highest quality ingredients in their purest form to nourish, heal and provide that extra touch of pampering. SKIN uses recycled materials with minimal packaging. The company conducts absolutely no animal testing, and it is made in small batches, locally in Kansas City.

SKIN can be found around town at many locally-owned shops and spas. We found it at Green Acres Market and fell in love with the Grapefruit POM All-Over Body Lotion, a lotion I use myself and have no problem with my 11-year old using as well. It is comforting to know that these clean local products are made with the highest expectation that it is good for our body and skin.

Connect with SKIN on Facebook and Instagram and on their website at   Support this local company and support your skin- these skin line products will definitely be on our local gift guide this holiday season and beyond. #shoplocal #supportlocal #KansasCity #promotekc
