We love to see The New York Times pay homage to the Westport neighborhood that has become a destination for craft beers, local charcuterie and indie-label clothes. Restaurants Julep, Port Fonda, Ca Va, Oddly Correct Coffee Bar and retail store The Bunker are turning the heads of people across the nation for their original menus, delicious food and local flare. For those of us that frequented Westport in the 90s, it is nice to see this classy set of places open up for a different side of Westport!

Interactive Heartland favorite picks: The Bunker Made Red Women’s KCMO shirt, perfect for Chiefs’ games, The Cocktail Hour at Julep (M-F 3:00-6:00) and Port Fonda’s Sunday Brunch with a “Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar.”
