The Central Bag Company Building at 13th and Hickory where The Dusted Attic occupies the 3rd floor with over 12,000 square feet.

During the first week-end of every month, the Historic West Bottoms District, what was once the original downtown of Kansas City, opens up to over 20 old warehouses filled with antique, vintage and unique merchandise for the public to explore and purchase. It is a celebrated event named “First Friday” or “Warehouse Weekend,” rich in history and tradition.

The August First Friday will bring a new face to the West Bottoms. The Dusted Attic will debut with a grand opening weekend full of fun and opportunities to find really new, unique and fresh items on the antique scene. Located on the 3rd floor of the Central Bag Company Building at 13th and Hickory, The Dusted Attic will feature painted and hand crafted furniture, home decor, jewelry, vintage and flea market finds.

Youth At The HeART studio offering classes for both kids and adults.

With over 12,000 sq. ft and over 25 vendors on hand, there will be plenty to explore! In addition to shopping, painting and ceramics classes for all ages will be given throughout the day by Youth at the HeART and chalk paint demonstrations by Chalklet’s Paint.

The Dusted Attic is bringing a fresh new concept to the West Bottoms. The store will have everything from new retail to painted furniture, vintage and flea market finds. They will be the only store in the West Bottoms with painting and art classes for both kids and adults. Youth at the HeART is the only children centered studio in the area. What a great way to involve kids. They will also have an art gallery, featuring Michael King.

Lisa Cellio and Deserae Minor co-own The Dusted Attic. Deserae was an algebra teacher in the Olathe school district. While raising her kids, she developed a passion for refinishing furniture and started as a vendor in West Bottoms a year ago. The Dusted Attic is a dream come true for Deserae, having always wanted to open her own store!

Lisa  is a veterinarian but loves the challenge of trying new things so as a team, she and Deserae decided to turn the 3rd floor of the Central Bag Co building into The Dusted Attic. The Central Bag building is a really neat old building and houses three other great stores-Hello Sailor, PNRR, and Stuffology. The third floor has 12,000 sq ft with a variety of wonderful buys for everyone. They currently have over 25 wonderful vendors and are always looking for more!
