Kicking off today is a delicious way to support local restaurants, farms, bakeries and more!

FF_Social1-1024x1024Bread & Butter Concepts, the parent company of great KC restaurants Urban Table, BRGR, Gram & Dun, Taco Republic, and the new Republica on the Plaza, is presenting a week full of Farm Fresh foods with special menu items made with fresh ingredients from local Kansas and Missouri farms, (as well as a few others from around the Heartland), bakeries, breweries and more. The Farm Fresh Week starts today and goes through Sunday, the 13th! Check out the restaurants’ special menus- and the local places that they come from below! Farm to table does not get any better than this!

Ingredient True Eatery– Ingredient will add to it’s already delicious menu a Kurlbaum beefsteak tomato tenderloin steak, made with red onions from OP Farmer’s Market and Providence roasted yukon potato, a caprese sandwich with Kurlbaum tomatoes, Farm to Market sourdough and red onions from OP Farmer’s Market. The drink special is a nice glass of Amigoni Sauvingnon Blanc!

BRGR– The popular burger joint in Power & Light and Corinth Square will highlight 2 dishes- the Windhaven Farms Lamb Burger, made with Green Dirt Farm goat cheese and “the King Chicken” with Norton Farm sweet tea pulled pork and a Farm to Market Egg bun. The drink just might be the star- the HRSFTHR is made with J.Rieger whiskey, No.22 bitters, ginger beer and lemon. An Amigoni Sauvignon Blanc will also be offered.

Taco Republic- Windhaven sweet tea pork will make another appearance in the Cubana taco alongside Burger’s Smokehouse ham & bacon, City Market jalapeno mustard and Art’s Mexican Store crispy flour tortilla. Lettuce wraps will offer a veggie-packed option with Kurlbaum wood-fired tomatoes and vegetables from OP Farmer’s Market, and a City Market Sherry Vinaigrette. Topped with Art’s Mexican Crispy tortilla strips, this is a perfect dish for a warm afternoon! Drinks offered will start Fall off right with a cold Free State Octoberfest or Ancho & Lefty, a drink made with J. Rieger vodka, ancho chilie liqueur, and lime. Yum!

Gram & Dun– Windhaven Hog Haven Pork Shoulder with Badseed Market poached apple, Slice & Spice pickled mustard seed, and Missing Ingredient mustard greens next to a Wet Hot Kansas City Summer drink sounds like a perfect way to enjoy a sunny afternoon on the Best Patio 2015! The drink, made with J.Rieger whiskey, Giffard Menthe Pastille (a mint liqueur,) and limes sounds delicious!

Republica- Republica is the only restaurant on the list that I have not visited (yet!) but the special Farm Fresh menu sounds amazing for the adventurous foodie at heart! The two specials, a Shannon Creek lamb & Fahrmeier Farms Kale Fritter, as well as Rabbit Paella with rabbit from Windhaven and veggies from Broadmoor Urban Farm, can be paired with an Amigoni Urban Vaquero or a Las Ramblas J. Rieger Whiskey drink!

Urban Table – This urban American Bistro will offer 2 unique appetizers: Scimeca’s sausages, served with a Farm to Market baguette or a OP Farmer’s Market watermelon and Kurlbaum tomato gazpacho. Norton Farm Pork Chop will be an entree of choice with a beet salad with beets from Missing Ingredient.

Details and further explanation of menu items can be found on the Bread & Butter Concepts blog!
