The much-anticipated Chipotle Cultivate 2015 is only a few days away and what a great time it will be! This is the ultimate weekend for foodies and music lovers alike. Held at Penn Valley Park, the festivities are from 11:00-7:00 on July 18th. This family-friendly fair will feature great chefs, including the Heartland’s own Colby Garrelts, chef and co-owner of Bluestem restaurant in Kansas City and Rye restaurant in Leawood, KS. He is a 2013 James Beard Award winner, Best Chef: Midwest and was selected by Food & Wine Magazine as one of the Top 10 Best New Chefs in 2005. Other chefs on stage are acclaimed chefs Amanda Freitag, Graham Elliot, and Tim Love! There will also be a Tasting Hall and Artisan Hall with beer, wine, and wonderful food to taste. A Kids Zone will include fun, educational activities that teach kids where their food comes from and why it’s important.
Cultivate Experiences will also be featured around the festival, where festival goers will learn what they have to offer, and get a program stamped. Complete at least four experiences, bring a program to the Info Tent and receive a coupon for a FREE burrito, bowl, salad or order of tacos and IZZE drinks at any Chipotle and a coupon for a FREE pizza at Pizzeria Locale – opening soon in Waldo! Pizzeria Locale is a partnership between Chipotle and Colorado restauranteurs Bobby Stuckey and Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson – will open a third restaurant this summer in Kansas City, Mo. The new location will mark the concept’s first expansion beyond Colorado.
